We begin our day around 8 am when she gets up. If I get up earlier, she will usually continue sleeping until about eight.
The first thing she wants is her breakfast. She then wants to go outside. I have tried to let her out before breakfast but it just won't work. Nothing is as important as eating. Of course after she has had a good breakfast it is time to go outside. In addition to nature's call, there is a lot of sniffing that needs to be done. Maybe she is trying to detect the scent of a rabbit that crossed the yard recently. The yard needs to be thoroughly sniffed.
When she comes in the house she is ready for games but we can't begin. We can't have any noisy games until my wife wakes up. This normally happens around 830. Once she is up the games can begin.
We start with "shake a rag". This game started with a tug of war rope. Our dog, Hurricane, would take one end of it in her mouth and shake it. Sometimes she would spin around in circles while spinning it. It was interesting to see but it proved to be a less than ideal spectator event. Sometimes she would let go of one end of the rope and it would go flying. If you happened to get hit with it, the knot on the end of the rope didn't feel too good.
My wife decided to replace the rope with a rag. She can shake it and when it is let go, it doesn't hurt if you are hit. The rag did land on my wife's head one time though.
She shakes the rag like she would shake a duck if she had one. She puts the rag down and nudges it with her nose as if to see if it still moves. Then she will pick it up and shake it again.
